Post Office is partnering with Transatel to deliver mobile services to UK customers later this year. According to a report by Go-mashmobile.com, the new mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) will avail of Transatel’s mobile virtual network aggregator (MVNA) technical platform and partnership with EE to provide mobile services to consumers.
Transatel now has 27 MVNO partner in the UK; other partners include Phones4U, PopMobile and The Co-operative.
Transatel deputy CEO Bertrand Salomon said: ‘The Post Office is the number one mails retailer in the UK and their customers put a huge amount of trust in them for their other services, so I am really honored that they have trusted Transatel and our award-winning MVNA platform to launch their mobile service in the UK. The rest of the Transatel team and I wish them every success.’
Martin George, chief commercial officer at Post Office, added: ‘Launching our own mobile service, with the support of Transatel, is a significant milestone in the Post Office’s journey of change and a testament to our continuing efforts to offer more essential services for our customers.’
He added, ‘We are very excited about our ambitious plans in the mobile market and are confident we have chosen the right partners to help us deliver this.
